Tips for Getting Toner Recycling Right the First Time

If you don’t have someone in your organization assigned to taking care of printers and copiers, recycling the cartridges can be hit or miss. Typically, an employee changes a toner cartridge once every 18 months, relearning how to do it every time, and they're often in a hurry to get their print job completed. What happens to the cartridge? Even if they remember to recycle it, it’s easy to get it wrong.

With more than 300 million cartridges ending up in landfills every year, we want to help you to get the cartridge and toner recycling process right.

Finding the Right Recyling Information

tonerscreenshot.pngIf you work with Marco, we have a very simple website that will get you the best information, and fast. It helps you find and print the prepaid mailing labels for all our brands of copiers - Sharp, Konica and Canon. It also has a simple form for printing out prepaid mailing labels for printer cartridges.

This website was designed specifically to get you exactly the information you need so you can recycle your Marco toner cartridge in about two minutes. Click here to see it for yourself!

Wrong toner Recycling labels

Another pitfall our customers run into is incorrectly sending a toner cartridge back to the vendor for recycling when they intended it to be returned to Marco. They see the prepaid label is sort of 'all purpose', and it ends up in a vendor's recycling pile. If you need to return a product to us - and get credit for it - please use this site.

Too Many Cartridges to Recycle

In some organizations, e.g. schools and universities, the printer cartridges pile up pretty fast. Printing out labels and boxing up each one is just not feasible. If you contact us, we have large boxes we can provide for your facility for convenient drop off. When the box is full, you just seal it and give it to UPS for pickup (the prepaid label is already on the box).

Our recycling partnership with our clients has been very successful. Thank you for all your help. And remember that everything you need to know to get your toner cartridges in the right place is just a click away.
